Honey Is More Than a Sweetener.
Most electrolyte powders seem to make you choose: lots of sugar or alternative sweeteners. We chose something different. We chose real honey. Honey gives our drinks their lightly sweet taste—and naturally provides glucose, a carbohydrate that plays a role in the body's normal process of absorbing sodium and water. So honey isn't just here because it tastes good.
A Little Sweet. A Little Salty. Very Intentional.
Your body has a remarkably efficient system for moving sodium and glucose together through the small intestine. When glucose and sodium are present together, glucose helps facilitate sodium absorption—and water follows.
We pair honey, a natural source of glucose, with sodium from sea salt and other essential electrolytes as part of a formula designed for everyday hydration.
GLUCOSE + SODIUM + WATER
That's the hydration equation.
Nature figured out sweet before us.
-
Real Carbohydrate
Honey naturally contains glucose and other sugars. We use it intentionally—not simply to make our products taste sweet.
-
Better-Tasting Hydration
Honey gives LimeLytes a smooth, lightly sweet taste without the distinctive aftertaste many people experience with stevia or sugar alcohols.
-
An Ingredient You Recognize
Honey has been around a lot longer than electrolyte powders. We like knowing exactly what is creating the sweetness in our drinks.
-
Beautifully Simple
Honey. Fruit. Sea salt. Electrolytes. Turns out hydration isn't complicated.
Why Aren't LimeLytes Zero Sugar?
Because zero sugar wasn't our goal.
There is nothing inherently wrong with choosing a zero-sugar drink. But when we created LimeLytes, we weren't interested in removing every gram of carbohydrate simply so we could put ZERO SUGAR on the front of the jar.
We wanted to make hydration that tasted great, used ingredients we felt good about, and made sense for the way we wanted to formulate.
So we use just enough real honey to do its job.
- No sugar overload.
- No stevia.
- No sugar alcohols.
- No artificial sweeteners.
Just an intentional amount of real honey.
So...What's Honey Powder?
Real honey isn't exactly convenient inside a jar of powdered electrolytes.
That's why we use honey powder—a dry form of honey that allows us to bring the flavor and naturally occurring sugars of honey into an easy-to-scoop drink mix.
Add water and it becomes part of the lightly sweet, refreshing LimeLytes experience.
Real honey. Powder-friendly format. Same reason we chose it in the first place.

Honey Over Hype.
Nature figured out sweet long before we did. We don't use honey because it's trendy. We don't use it so we can tell a prettier ingredient story. We use it because it makes sense. A little carbohydrate.Essential electrolytes. Real fruit.Really good taste. A little sweet. A little salty. A lot intentional. Real honey. Real minerals. Real fruit. Really hydration.
FAQ
Why does LimeLytes use honey?
We use honey for both taste and formulation. Honey provides a lightly sweet flavor and naturally contains glucose, a carbohydrate involved in the body's normal sodium-and-water absorption process.
Does honey help with electrolyte absorption?
Glucose and sodium are transported together in the small intestine, a well-established physiological mechanism that helps facilitate sodium and water absorption. Honey naturally provides glucose, which is one reason we chose it as part of our formulation.
Does LimeLytes contain sugar?
Yes. Honey contains naturally occurring sugars, and because honey is added to LimeLytes as an ingredient, those sugars are considered added sugars for Nutrition Facts labeling.
Why not make LimeLytes zero sugar?
Zero sugar wasn't our formulation goal. We intentionally use a small amount of real honey for its taste and carbohydrate content rather than relying on stevia, sugar alcohols or artificial sweeteners.
Does LimeLytes contain stevia?
No. Our honey-sweetened products contain no stevia.
What is honey powder?
Honey powder is a dry honey ingredient that allows honey to be incorporated into a powdered drink mix.
Which LimeLytes products contain honey?
LimeLytes, MorningLytes and SunLytes are made with honey. TacLytes uses a different formulation designed for tactical and work hydration.
